Congratulations to Mark Gumley on Blue Lightning, for winning the multihull division of the 2007 Swiftsure Regatta.
Mark and crehttp://www.sailingworld.comw, used a full set of UK Halsey Calvert sails on his Farrier F9A trimaran to soundly win this classic Northwest long distance race.
Included in this sail inventory were triradial Carbon main and jib, tape drive Carbon screacher and new asymmetrical spinnaker.

Also congradulations are in order for Mike Lenemen on Delta Vee, for winning the Newport to Ensanada race for the second consecutive year on his custom F31, with a Cuben fiber mainsail from UK Halsey Calvert.

"This is the second year in a row that we have won the Ensenada Race, which may be the only time in 40 years that the same boat has won it two years in a row. It was again a light-wind race with a lot of weather work; whereas, normally, it's a downwind slide. To weather, we are a mainsail driven boat and Dave Calvert's mainsail (which is now 6 years old) performed very well. There is nothing more that I could ask for from this sail, it been a great sail and continues to be a great sail."

Report card:
Main: "Looked great and sailed great.

Jib: awesome, once I got them to put the travel cars in the right place. They had them too far forward and the top of the sail would be on the spreader, while the bottom would be out. After moving them aft the jib conformed to the back of the main all the way down the leech and was much faster. We were outpointing all the monohulls and certainly the multihulls.

Hooter (Screacher): Awesome again. At first one of the crew claimed it was too full and would never serve upwind. Gary seemed a bit upset as he specifically said he wanted an upwind screacher. So, I took a look at it. (light air and plenty of time to play around with stuff.) I had them tighten up the luff and then move the turning block in next to the hull (It was about 3 feet out on the aka before). Suddenly the sail again conformed to the main shape and the boat took off like a rocket. It was a real drifter, but we quickly pulled away from the fleet and passed Running with Scissors. The wind shifted big time and picked up, and we reduced to the jib and jumped past all but a few monos that had started 45 minutes earlier and in a 6 mile leg, we were about 2 miles ahead of the rest of the multifleet, including Scissors and Big Storm"

"We won our class, the new chute was awesome and we had a very light air day on the distance portion where the upwind screacher made the difference. Great job!!! and thank you!!!!"
